Distribution of surveys

Corecom have the task of monitoring compliance with the rules regulating the publication and distribution of surveys over the local mass media.

Corecom’s monitoring of surveys is conducted both directly, and in response to indications from users, associations, and organizations that have identified an infringement of the rules.

Corecom exercises its role  in relation to surveys for all Lombardy radio and television broadcasters and, as regards newspapers and periodicals, for those that satisfy criteria defined by the Communications Guarantee Authority. As regards surveys distributed over Internet, the Authority (AGCOM) retains competence.

Corecom’s monitoring activities come into effect, whenever informed of a violation, by starting a procedure, this also being communicated by registered post with recorded delivery or by fax to the subject that published the survey, which may foresee the issue of an order for publication, integration, or correction of the data recoded in the survey.

In order to be considered, reports must include: 

  • the name, surname, residence or legal domicile, and telephone number of the reporting party;
  • an accurate description of the case
  • indication of the legal regulation thought to be violated
  • indications of the time and day of the presumed violation
  • the identifying details, or any details available for the purpose of  identifying the subjects responsible for the presumed violation.
